Recorder’s notes: The sound of the video on an inexpensive digital videocamera is poorer than that of the audio, which was recorded closer to the speaker with an Olympus audio recorder. There is about a 16-17 offset between the two recordings. It is possible to spend a few moments playing the video with the sound turned off and then one can try to get the audio to synchronize. I may take the time to replace the video’s audio track with the mp3 audio track but that takes a bit of time to experiment. I have just ordered a wireless microphone set which should arrive before the next shiur and this will improve the audio considerably for subsequent shiurim. If there are any video mavens out there who can suggest an inexpensive way to improve the lighting and to reduce the background noise, please contact Aaron Gross.
